Last year I was fortunate enough to be a part of a team that made a dream come true. After months of hard work and intense training, 6 friends – the CrossFit Route 1 team – placed 2nd in the 2011 NorthEast Regionals and made it to the 5th Annual CrossFit Games in Carson, CA.
It was the first time I had been part of a group of people so dedicated to the pursuit of such an elusive goal. To call the journey an learning experience would drastically understate the profound change the entire experience had on my view of the what I am capable of in the world. It also taught me the power a group of people can have when they seek to achieve a common goal. There were set backs, injuries, doubts, and fears, but in the end we did exactly what we set out to accomplish. We made it to the CrossFit Games and finished 17th in the world.
This year I again have the privilege of being part of the CrossFit Route 1 team. Although the team has 3 new members, we are once again we are training hard and looking toward the North East Regionals in Canton, MA (May 25 – 27) to test our fitness, drive, determination and resolve.
Check out my new blog Road to the NorthEast Regionals 2012. It is a chronicle of my journey, as part of the CrossFit Route 1 team, as we work toward the NorthEast Regionals and with a little luck and a lot of hard work, back the the CrossFit Games.
